Music tools should disappear into the practice.
Tone & Tempo is an independent collection of focused browser tools for musicians. It began with a simple frustration: most online metronomes look busy, sound thin and feel nothing like the instrument they replace.
What we make
Our mechanical metronome combines a tactile, realistic interface with a recording of a physical Nikko metronome. The tuner adapts the YIN pitch-detection work developed for our StringTone mini program. The drum metronome adds kick, snare and hi-hat so subdivisions can be practised as music rather than sterile clicks.
How we work
Every tool is designed around a real practice task, tested by listening, and usable without an account. Microphone audio is analysed on the device and is never recorded or sent to our servers. We favour clear controls, useful explanations and honest limitations over feature lists.
Funding
Tone & Tempo is free to use. We may support the site with clearly labelled advertising in the future. Ads will never be disguised as controls, placed where they encourage accidental clicks, or allowed to interrupt the core tools.
