Drag the weight to set your tempo
Realistic Online Mechanical Metronome
Tone & Tempo keeps the directness of a traditional pyramid metronome: move the weight, press start, and practise. The sound comes from a real mechanical metronome recording rather than a thin electronic beep.
The first beat is naturally stronger in accented metres, while the visible pendulum and beat lamps make the bar easy to follow. Nothing to install, no account, and no sound leaves your device.
Set the tempo as you would on the real instrument.
- Move the weight.Drag the metal weight up for a slower pulse or down for a faster one.
- Choose the metre.Select 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 or 6/8 to hear a stronger first beat.
- Press start.Follow the pendulum and listen ahead of each click instead of chasing it.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a real mechanical metronome sound?
Yes. The click is sampled from a physical Nikko mechanical metronome, then scheduled in the browser for stable timing.
What tempo range does the metronome support?
The movable weight covers 40 to 208 BPM, matching the traditional range printed on many pyramid metronomes.
Can I use it without installing an app?
Yes. It works directly in a modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone, with no account and no installation.
Why is the first beat stronger?
The stronger downbeat makes the beginning of each bar clear. Choose the dash option when you want an even, unaccented pulse.
